in this world

"Foolish man." (愚公・Gu-Kou)

Once upon a time in China、there was a man called like that.
　
He lived in inland China with his family.
And his house had been sandwiched between two big mountains.
Their's life had been forced to very inconvenience by it.
　
"If these mountains disappear、our lives is going to be easier."
　
One day、he decided to leveled these mountains.
And he and his childrens began packed the soil of mountains in the bag.

"But we must not give trouble to others.
Place that does not give the trouble to others、we have to dump the soil there."

Eventually、they decided to throw it away into the sea.
But the sea was very far.
They took half a year to the round trip.

"You are a fool.
You carry a small bag on shoulder.
And half a year at one round trip.
If you are to do that、these mountains will disappear when?"

He was ridiculed of course from people who saw it.

"Fool is you guys."
　
But he replied with a smile against it.
　
"Yes、it may be impossible in my lifetime for sure.　
But I have childrens.　
And future、they will have a childs.

They will continue carry the soil.
But mountain does not increase any more.
Nevertheless these mountains does not disappear.
Although this would be too obvious、such a thing is impossible."
　
He said so in a cheerful mood.

"He is a fool.
Human eliminate these mountains、such a thing is impossible."

Peoples who was laughing him like that、it was also present in the other.
However they were not human.
They were these mountains gods.
　
"This is dangerous.
This man may accomplish this."
　
But they heard his words and became anxious.

"If mountain disappears、we must also disappear.
For the time in case something happens、we want to move to a different place."
　
And they appealed like that to the God of heaven. (天帝・Ten-Teitei of course God of China)
God listened to this appeal and moved these mountains another place.
　
After this、big mountain no longer exists in its periphery.
　
And they lived happily ever after.

The foolish man.
Mountain gods feared his actions and they appealed to the God of heaven.
Mountain was moved by this.
I wrote so yesterday.

But this is not accurate.

God of heaven received the appeal from the mountain gods.
So God saw from heaven his actions.
　
There was a man carrying the soil there without uttering any complaints.
God was impressed to see it.
And God has decided to move a mountain.

This is a storyline like that.　

"The foolish man who moved the mountain."

By the way、June 1945.
"Mao Zedong" wrote a thesis with cited this old tale. (毛沢東・Moutakutou)

Note:I have not read this thesis.

God moved the mountain at last.

It's peoples of China.

It will reach to them surely.
And they will stand up with us for this fight surely.
And that time、the mountain will move surely."
