If I had to pick just one genius in Japan during this period、I think it would be Takasugi Shinsaku.

As a high-ranking samurai of the Choshu clan、he had a clear sense of class towards others.

However、he created what would be the first non-samurai class modern army in Japanese history and he led that army into battle against the class-conscious Choshu samurai.

Ultimately、his armed uprising against the Choshu clan government resulted in the victory of the non-samurai class corps over the samurai corps.

And this victory was a foretaste of the future changes in Japan.

However、after this、Takasugi's life will not be long.
